Invitation and themes

The International Society of Global Health invites you to the 6th ISoGH’s Conference on Global Health. This year’s conference will feature presentations from global health experts on the topics of priority setting, health economics and policy, health metrics, data science and artificial intelligence in global health, effects of climate change, wars and violence on global health, barriers to achieving universal health care, pandemic preparedness, knowledge exchange and equitable investing in global health programmes.
This year’s conference will be free for all registered participants who are active members of the ISoGH, while for everyone else it will cost USD 100 to register and participate in two days of the conference.

Day 1: Emerging themes

The first day of the conference will focus on the emerging topics in global health research. The results of recent exercises conducted by ISoGH on setting research priorities using the CHNRI method will be presented. The work of the Global Health Epidemiology Research Group (GHERG) in assessing the burden of diseases relevant to low- and middle-income countries will be shown. Tools to influence health economics and policy will be reviewed, presenting the examples of implementation of tools such as EQUIST and PATHS, that could improve equity and social justice in funding allocation. Climate change effects, effects of wars and violence on global health, and the use data science and artificial intelligence in global health will be discussed.

Day 2: Ongoing themes

The second day of the conference will address barriers to achieving universal health care and improve pandemic preparedness globally. It will also present a spectrum of other themes that span across global health research in many countries, focusing more on how best to promote local research for global health. Publishing and knowledge exchange in global health with be discussed and new books reviewed.

Submission of Abstract Proposals and Participation Fee:

If you would like to actively participate as a presenter at the 6th ISoGH conference, please submit your abstract of up to 300 words with the title, authors, and affiliations clearly listed, as a 1-page Word document to: secretariat@isogh.org. Please do this by the deadline of 31 Oct 2025.

This year’s conference will be free for all ISoGH members, who will only require registration. To register, please write to secretariat@isogh.org simply declaring your interest in attending and we will send you a link to join the conference. Non-members should follow the same procedure, but they will need to pay USD 100 to attend:
Those interested in presenting can write to secretariat@isogh.org and submit their proposed presentations (title, authors, affiliations and 300-word abstracts) by the deadline of 31 Oct, 2023.
