Invitation and themes

The International Society of Global Health invites you to the 2nd ISoGH’s Conference on Global Health. With the overwhelming majority, members voted that this year’s 2nd ISoGH Forum on Global Health should be held online again, due to COVID-19 concerns. Last year, the 1st ISoGH Forum on Global Health provided a series of informative webinars on COVID-19 from 14 different countries. This year, we would like to offer something more to our members: we would like to engage them in an exercise that should set research priorities for COVID-19 in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) and result in a joint research paper.

Day 1: Setting health research priorities using the CHNRI method: VII. A review of the first 50 applications of the CHNRI method.

We believe that one of the important purposes of ISoGH should be to set global research priorities using voices, knowledge and experience from all of ISoGH members. This year, as an integral part of the 2nd ISoGH Forum on Global Health, we will have a plenary session that explains the process that we will use to set research priorities. It is called “the CHNRI method”. You can learn more about it from the following video presentation:

Day 2: Please join us for the 2nd ISoGH Forum on Global Health and help us set research priorities for COVID-19 in LMIC.

To participate in the 2nd ISoGH Global Forum, please simply join ISoGH in defining research priorities for the COVID-19 pandemic in low- and middle-income countries. As the first step,  please think of 3 research ideas that you consider a priority to address COVID-19 in LMIC. All ISoGH members who submit their ideas will then also be invited to score them in the second stage of the exercise. Based on your participation and input, we will then write the related research paper, which will be published in the “Journal of Global Health”.

All those who submit both the ideas and scores will be credited as equal co-authors in the research paper in the “Journal of Global Health”, in alphabetical order, and also in the ISoGH Annual Report. Those who submit their ideas, but do not submit their scores, will be listed in the acknowledgement section of the paper. Please join us for the 2nd ISoGH Forum on Global Health and help us set research priorities for COVID-19 in LMIC. To take part, please simply send your 3 research ideas to address the COVID-19 in LMIC to: 
 
 
The deadline for submission of your ideas is September 20, 2021. Once we collate all ideas that we receive, we will then get in touch with you and explain how the scoring is done. We hope that you will take part in our 2nd ISoGH Forum on Global Health and its priority-setting exercise and find it informative and useful.

Participation fee:

This year’s conference will be free for all ISoGH members, who will only require registration. To register, please write to office@isogh2.org simply declaring your interest in attending and we will send you a link to join the conference. Interested non-members should follow the same procedure.
Those interested in presenting can write to submissions@isogh4.org and submit their proposed presentations (title, authors, affiliations and 300-word abstracts) by the deadline of 31 Oct, 2023.
